HELP & ADVICE

The following advice should ensure you get maximum benefit from your massage:

* Drink plenty of fluids before & after your massage in order to avoid the chance of dehydration. Stick to water and herbal teas if possible. If you become dehydrated, this could lead to headaches, nausea, muscle cramps & dry skin.

* Avoid caffeine & alcohol before and after massage. Massage helps remove toxins from the body. By adding toxins such as caffeine and alcohol you are forcing your body to work harder to remove them. This adds to the chances of dehydration and the side effects thereof.

* Avoid heavy meals. Stick to light meals and snacks to keep your blood sugar stable. This should minimise the chances of feeling light-headed or dizzy.

* Avoid heavy exercise. A good massage is a workout in itself. Your body needs time to relax afterwards. Stick to light exercise and stretching.

* Particularly tense areas will probably not be totally alleviated in one session and may require further treatment.

* The day after a massage it is quite normal for previously tense muscles to feel a little fatigued or achey. This is due to the breakdown of toxins being released back into the bloodstream then being flushed from the body.
